Venice 5 applications are licensed with an extensive set of adminstration tools and custom utilities that automate many of the installation tasks, enable data sharing with external systems, and support ongoing system maintenance. These utilities are a core element of our installation and support methodology, and enable our customers to learn to quickly and efficiently maintain their solutions in-house.
Task Manager
The Task Manager control interface provides a single point were administrators can manage all Venice services. Within this tool, the administrator can maintain the Venice load balancer and job scheduler, view active application servers, view background services, log and view analysis graphs of the server loads over time, as well as automatically close non-responsive/locked servers.
Database Utility
This utility provides an automated “one-click” method to quickly import/export the entire Venice database. Using this utility provides the administrator with an easy method to move data between production, test, and training environments as appropriate to support the implementation effort or ongoing user training. This tool also provides an automated method to keep the database structure up-to-date with each minor/major release for a streamlined upgrade process and to test database connectivity.
Job Scheduler
Manages all Venice background processes/jobs that occur on either a scheduled basis or on demand, such as regularly scheduled file imports/exports.
Import/Export/Filter Utility
Provides a simple method for sharing pre-defined data formats between Venice and an external data source. Pre-defined formats available include assets, stock items, inventory sites, requisitions, bids, purchase orders, contracts, blanket orders, account codes and vendors. This utility is also used to create filtered datasets for PocketVenice applications, allowing users in the field to work with the right set of data to perform their assigned task(s).
Venice Upgrade Script
Provides our customers with an automated method to upgrade their current WebVenice application to the latest release, while archiving the prior version.
